Privacy policy
This policy explains what GILDANE collects when you use gildane.com, why, and what you can do about it. GILDANE is operated by Talen and Haten Limited, registered in Hong Kong, which is the controller of the personal information described here.
What we collect
- What you give us: name, shipping and billing address, email address, phone number if you provide one, and the contents of messages you send us.
- Order and payment data: what you bought and when. Card details are entered on our payment provider's systems and are never stored on ours; we see only the card type and last four digits.
- Automatically collected: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and how you arrived at the site. This comes from cookies and similar technologies.
Why we use it
- To take, pack, ship, and support your order, and to handle returns and warranty claims
- To prevent fraud and keep the store secure
- To send order updates, and marketing email only if you asked for it
- To understand which pages and products work, in aggregate
- To meet our tax, accounting, and legal obligations
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who need it to do their job for us: our ecommerce platform, payment processors, shipping carriers, our email and support tools, and analytics and advertising providers. They may use it only on our instructions. We also disclose information when the law requires it, and we may transfer it as part of a business sale or reorganization. We do not sell your personal information for money.
Cookies and advertising
We use cookies that are necessary for the store to work (cart, checkout, security) and, with consent where required, cookies for analytics and advertising. Advertising cookies may let providers such as Google and Meta show you our ads elsewhere. Under some US state laws, this sharing counts as "sharing" or "targeted advertising", and you can opt out by emailing support@gildane.com or via your browser's global privacy control signal, which we honor.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold, correct it, delete it, obtain a portable copy, opt out of targeted advertising or sale/sharing, and not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. California residents have these rights under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA; residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas and other states with comparable laws have similar rights.
To make a request, email support@gildane.com from the address on your order. We verify requests before acting on them and respond within the time the applicable law allows, normally 45 days. You may use an authorized agent where the law permits.
You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link at the bottom of any marketing message. Transactional emails about an order you placed are not marketing and continue.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, normally seven years. Support messages are kept for three years. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept in aggregated form.
International transfers
We are based in Hong Kong and use service providers in the United States and elsewhere, so your information is processed outside your home country. We rely on the safeguards our providers offer, including standard contractual clauses where they apply.
Security
The site runs over encrypted connections, payment data is handled by PCI-compliant providers, and access to customer data inside our business is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfect, and we do not claim otherwise.
Children
This store is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we post the updated version here with a new date. Material changes are announced by email to subscribers.
